Wellness Monitor App Development

The Bhakti Wellness Center aims to empower individuals to take control of their health by developing a user-friendly app that utilizes smartwatch sensor data. The primary goal of this project is to create an application that can interpret heart rate variability and other key health indicators, providing users with real-time feedback. This app will enable users to monitor their health metrics and receive training suggestions to improve their overall wellness. The project will focus on integrating smartwatch data with an intuitive interface that translates complex health data into actionable insights. By leveraging classroom knowledge in app development and data analysis, learners will gain practical experience in creating a health-focused digital tool. The project will involve tasks such as designing the app interface, developing algorithms to process sensor data, and testing the app for usability and accuracy.

PROJECT 2: Wellness App Implementation & Data Integration for Bhakti Wellness Center

Bhakti Wellness Center provides holistic health services through neurofeedback, acupuncture, and bodywork. They aim to develop a wellness monitoring app that translates smartwatch sensor data into actionable health insights with a focus on heart rate variability (HRV) and breath pacing. Building on the research and design phase, this project will focus on implementing the wellness monitoring app. Learners will develop the breath pacer module, integrate smartwatch data, and construct the functional interface based on the design specifications provided by Project 1. The focus will be on creating a working prototype that can be tested for data accuracy, usability, and health monitoring efficacy.

Heart Rate Variability App

A roughly 4 phase mobile app design project. Phase 1 - a simple breath pacer, user enters an inhale time, pause time, exhale time, pause time. App creates visual display pacing the users breathing and audio pacer as well. Phase 2 - connect app to supplied smartwatch to import heart rate data, calculate heart rate variability (HRV) in real time and display along with breath pacer. User has the ability to set the length of the HRV intake session. Phase 3 - importing more of the sensor data from the watch to be displayed in app, for example the blood oxygen level, heart rate, sleep, etc.. Phase 4 - redesign the app on the smartwatch to eliminate unwanted features, build into the watch app some of the features created in the phone app. The over all goal is to create a health and wellness app that gives the user valuable realtime autonomic nervous system data to assess, train, regulate and re-educate their autonomic nervous system. To improve key health indicators such as HRV, blood pressure, blood oxygen, sleep and more. With the wealth of smart devices on the market its shocking that none of them have been designed to give people the data and control they need to make real changes in their health. Currently this kind of functionality is only found in clinic level equipment and software, keeping these vital tools out of reach of most people. Students will have the opportunity to work on real world app design, UX, data processing, data analysis and display, linking to hardware all while solving a vital healthcare need, and directly contribute the welling being of many many people.

Wellness Monitor App Development

The Bhakti Wellness Center aims to empower individuals to take control of their health by developing a user-friendly app to improve overall health and wellness. The primary goal of this project is to create an app for Breath Pacing, with potential to develop a HRV app that can interpret heart rate variability and other key health indicators, providing users with real-time feedback. Phase 1: Breath Pacer App Develop a user friendly healthcare based app for breath pacing, with graphic visualization and audio, and ability for user to input preferred inhale and exhale times. App would be available for use on smartphones and tablets Examples of breath pacer apps https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.paced.breathing&hl=en_US&pli=1 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=awesomelabs.awesomebreathing.app&hl=en_US Sample video for pacer graphic, sinusoidal pacing graph https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTiSZJ82iRI The project deliverables will include a fully functional prototype of the breath pacer app. Additionally, a comprehensive report documenting the app's development process, including design choices, algorithm development, and testing results, will be provided. The final deliverable will be a presentation showcasing the app's features and potential impact on user health management. Phase 2: HRV App Create an application that utilizes smartwatch sensor data to interpret heart rate variability and other key health indicators, providing users with real-time feedback. This app will enable users to monitor their health metrics and receive training suggestions to improve their overall wellness. Complete with a user-friendly interface and real-time data processing capabilities. Providing specialized, in-depth knowledge and general health industry insights for a comprehensive understanding. Weekly scheduled meetings and check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
