Software Development Project Winter 2025

Mohawk College delivers a Software Engineering Project (COMP-CO867) course that all students take in their 3rd year (5th semester), where they work in groups to complete a project with a client/partner. Ideally, the client is a company/organization that requires the development of a software prototype solution to solve a particular problem. The client does not pay for the student effort in these projects. Projects have been completed for Hamilton Health Sciences, local non-profit groups, The City of Hamilton, Industrial clients, and many clients of the Innovation Factory and client through Riipen
Fall 2025 Digital Health Capstone Project

We are excited to announce that a new group of Digital Health Graduate Certificate students at Mohawk College are seeking potential projects for their Capstone course starting in the fall(September 2025)! The Capstone projects will be completed in groups of 2 to 4 students over two semesters starting in the fall semester (September 2025) and concluding at the end of the winter semester (April 2026). The fall course will focus on students choosing a project, collecting requirements, formulating a design, doing some project planning and building a very rudimentary prototype system. During the winter semester, students will complete the implementation, test and deploy their final projects.

VIRTUAL INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY! Bring on one or more students from the Software Support and Software Development co-op programs at Mohawk College to be your virtual intern! Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the work term (Summer 2024), connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. This is a paid co-op opportunity . Students would be hired as employees of your company and covered under your WSIB insurance. Students are available between May and August 2024, and require a total of 420 hours of paid work to qualify for co-op credit. Hourly wages are set based on minimum wage in Ontario ($16.55/hour).
Winter 2025 Virtual Placement for Neurodiverse Students - Math

The Career Pathways program provides an opportunity for neurodiverse students to enhance both academic and professional skills in an empowering learning environment. Career Pathways students have brought their many strengths to over 40 other college programs and a variety of industries beyond graduation. The placement is a key part of the program where students build on their professional skills and receive valuable mentorship through real-world employment experience. In partnering with the Career Pathways program, the community partner benefits from working with students with a unique perspective who are reliable, supportive, and empathetic. It also provides the community partner with exposure to the benefits of neurodiversity in the workplace, reinforcing the importance of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
